Children First is an early childhood learning center. We are licensed with the state of South Dakota to serve children from birth through age five. We offer sessions for preschool for ages three through five, and childcare. It is our goal to have your child grouped with the children they will enter school with. Typically, children move up to the next classroom in June when we start our summer program. Our hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Please see the school year calendar for exact start and end dates, along with holiday closures.

Daily Schedule and Hours of Operation

7:00 - 8:15 AM - Arrival for Morning Care

8:15 – 8:30 AM - Arrival for Preschool

8:30 – 11:30 AM - Ladybug Room Activities (approximately 4 weeks-12 months)

Firefly Room Activities (approximately age 1-2) Caterpillar Room Activities (approximately age 2-3)

Preschool (Bumblebee & Butterfly Classes age 3-6)

11:30 - 12:30 PM - Lunch

12:30 - 2:30 PM - Nap/Awake Friends participate in educational activities

2:30 - 3:30 PM - Clean-up/Snack

3:30 - 5:30 PM - Open Play/Centers/Outside time, weather permitting.

The daily schedule is subject to change based on children’s needs/ interests and weather conditions.

Please note that age groupings are approximate and can vary depending on each child’s birthday and

developmental needs & available openings.

Children First is located on the corner of Jackson Blvd. and 5th Street.

Children First is a locked facility for the safety of our students and children.
